The Wonders of Bamboo Charcoal and How it Can Benefit Your Skin
Posted by Anita Sun
When you're searching for a skincare product that's natural and will provide you with beautiful and healthy skin, you should look into the wonders of bamboo charcoal and the many benefits that it can provide. This kind of charcoal is made from the Moso bamboo plant, which allows for the creation of bamboo charcoal. While bamboo charcoal is injected with steam in a manner that activates the charcoal, there are no additional chemicals used for the creation of this substance, which ensures that it's natural.
The Moso bamboo plant mainly grows in China and is named the Phyllostachys edulis plant. The plant itself is harvested once it has been growing for five years. The plant is then cut up into small pieces before being placed in a fire that reaches as high as 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit. At this point, the bamboo charcoal is formed and can start being processed for use in skincare products.
In order for the bamboo charcoal to be used as an ingredient in skincare products, it must first be activated, which occurs when steam is injected into it. When steam is sent into the charcoal, the surface area of the substance expands, which is what makes bamboo charcoal highly beneficial when applied to a person's skin. Because of the larger surface area, the powder can adsorb any toxins, bacteria, or harmful particles on your skin. Keep in mind that activated charcoal is better than standard bamboo charcoal in this regard. Activated charcoal will have a tighter grip on the substances that are effectively adsorbed.
Even though bamboo charcoal has only recently been placed within skincare products, the history of charcoal being used for medicinal reasons is a lengthy one. Medicinal charcoal was first used by the Egyptians in 1,500 BC in order to adsorb the odors caused by wounds. In the modern world, charcoal of all types can help to purify water and air when used in the right appliances. This substance is also commonly used for treating cases of drug poisoning and overdose. When mixed into water, you can consume the substance for the treatment of diarrhea, poisoning, or indigestion. You can also use charcoal in compresses or poultices when treating pain or infections on the skin. This article goes into detail about bamboo charcoal and the kinds of benefits that it can provide when applied to your skin.
Bamboo charcoal is considered to be a natural treatment in medicine because of its detoxifying properties and other beneficial components. As mentioned previously, consuming bamboo charcoal can help you prevent the occurrence of a drug overdose. When the charcoal passes through your stomach, it will absorb the harmful chemicals contained within, which can be very helpful if you believe that you're on the verge of experiencing a drug overdose.
This substance can also prevent your body from directly absorbing the cholesterol that's found within your gut, which can reduce your cholesterol levels by as much as 25 percent. Some additional benefits of using bamboo charcoal include kidney function benefits and the improvement of gastrointestinal issues. If you currently suffer from chronic kidney disease, bamboo charcoal may be able to reduce the severity of your symptoms by getting rid of some of the toxins in your body. As for gastrointestinal issues, bamboo charcoal can effectively assist with the relief of bloating and gas. Even when you're not using bamboo charcoal on your skin, it can benefit your health in many different ways, which is why this substance is highly regarded.

Activated charcoal is an amazing ingredient. My skin looks better & the persistent rash I’ve had on my arms, for years, has cleared up & is just about gone, except for a few tiny spots on each arm. I’ve been to several dermatologists over the years & received no precise diagnosis & many medications to heal this rash to no avail. Finally decided to live with it. Then I ran out of my body wash & used what one of my kids had left in shower. I was skeptical of the activated charcoal in it, but noticed an improvement in my skin right away. So next I tried their shampoo & conditioner & was surprised how soft & shiny my naturally coarse hair felt. Needless to say I am in love with the products with activated charcoal in them..
